Community based installation, May 1996
Burning Bridges was a site-specific installation that existed for one year on a vacant lot in Winnipeg, MB. Each doorway represented an opportunity that was either vanishing into or emerging from the earth, depending on the viewer’s vantage point. The recycled 8”x8” spruce timbers were assembled with 1/4 inch steel plates and lag-bolted together. The post and lintel construction of historic building practices provided a necessary image of a solid form being created or corrupted.
