Multimedia video installation, February 2007
Id, is the source of our drives and instincts within the human brain. This installation divides the gallery into two chambers representing our consciousness and unconsciousness. At the end of the funnel, which according to Freud is repression, is a video screen. The viewers see the scrim from a balcony first and then enter the space to view the video college.
Standing in an optimal vantage point the viewer views the video collage in forced perspective. The clips are meant to depict common yet specific memories of events that occur when traveling. Traveling being one possible route to gaining experience and informing our instinct.
