Site-specific installation, October 2004
The focus of my work is to initiate an investigation by the viewer, an investigation of the space and of their own earthly location. The curiosity to discover the origins of a continuous line through space extends from the railroad scenario. The installation titled Silo uses layers of polyethylene film to create horizontal and vertical lines that converge centrally. The lines move outward and inward from the nucleus and form a clean solid connection to the walls, ceiling, and floor where the material attaches to the gallery extremities. The flatness of the layered film creates a slice through the space, as if the surface continues beyond the gallery walls.
